There Is No Neutral: Yoga, Silence, and Speaking Up Online with Tristan Katz

Join Tristan Katz for There is No Neutral

Many of us were taught to keep politics off the mat. Yet every class we teach, every post we share, and every silence we keep sends a message about whose lives matter and whose comfort we protect.

In this workshop, Tristan Katz, author of the forthcoming We Are the Message, invites yoga teachers and practitioners to examine the myth of neutrality in our classes, our communities, and our digital spaces. Drawing on yoga philosophy, trauma-informed practice, and the work of Skill in Action, we’ll explore what keeps us quiet, how silence protects power, and how to speak up from our values when the stakes feel high. You’ll leave with a practice for pausing between instinct and response, a framework for looking at your own platforms, and a clearer sense of how your voice can be part of a collective shift. Note: this will be a mostly conversational space with short guided meditation and reflection time.
